This is a deeply hydrating and rich treatment for the driest and most parched skin - shoulders, elbows, hands, feet, as well as dry patches on the face.
We love this ingredient because it feels great on the skin, is long-lasting, and doesn't have the tackiness or funky aroma that you get with animal-sourced lanolin. It's sourced from shea and olive oil unsaponifiables (a compound that is an excellent emollient and is rich in squalene and phytosterols). Plus, it has been shown to be about twice as effective in terms of water retention when compared to animal-sourced lanolin.
The vegan lanolin we use is made from shea butter and olive oil unsaponifiables (a compound that is an excellent emollient and is rich in squalene and phytosterols). Both shea butter and olive oil unsaponifiables are rated low on the comedogenic scale. That said, we would not recommend this product on the face for anyone with acne-prone skin.
We don't add synthetic fragrance to any of our formulas, but this product does contain cacao extract in a tiny amount to help offset the natural aroma of all the various actives. You may notice a very subtle scent, similar to cocoa butter, that dissipates quickly.
